A strong believer that dance is for everyone, and eager to build a fun and relaxed environment for anyone to come and experience dance in, I designed and submitted a project proposal to run weekly contemporary dance workshops, featuring Guest Artists in selected weeks, for potential inclusion in Monash Uni Student Theatre's (MUST) 2025 season. Thank you MUST for accepting this project into the 2025 programme, and for your support in making this initiative possible. This project was assisted by Lani Zimora (administrative/management support) and Lisa Baker (marketing support).

Monday Contemporary Dance Workshops culminated in a series of weekly hour-long dance workshops on Monday evenings. They ran throughout the 2025 University calendar year, from Weeks 1-12 in Semesters 1 and 2. Each workshop was $5, and open to anyone within the Monash student community to attend. Participants do not need prior dance or movement experience to sign up.

As the Creative Producer, I curated and mentored Guest Artists, who were Monash students interested in teaching dance or sharing their movement practice. Any and all genres of dance/movement are welcome. Students were free to share anything, from a short piece of choreography, to introducing steps from their movement practice. I provided support in the form of an individual session with Guest Artists prior to their workshops, each tailored specifically towards the Guest Artist's needs. From a dry run/rehearsal to offering advice towards structuring their workshop, these aimed to help Guest Artists feel comfortable, confident, and well-prepared to run their workshop.

Looking back, this was one of my first ventures into a managerial role in the arts, after years spent mainly onstage. Thank you MUST for your unending support, advice and encouragement. Thank you to everyone who participated in the workshops - for some, their first time trying dance out, and for others, returning to dance after many years. It was an honour to share the space with old and new friends, learn and share knowledge across multiple dance styles/genres, and celebrate these new friendships and different dance cultures. I am so glad we built a dance community at MUST together!

To encourage the Monash student community to attend these workshops, I also created weekly marketing content (with some advice from Lisa Baker) and posted these to the MUST socials, mainly @musttheatre on Instagram. Have a look at some of the Marketing content below.
